An early wake-up. I start out by reading through emails and doing focused work without interruptions for 1 to 2 hours
Time for an “at home gym” workout- with or without my daughter (depending if she is awake already, usually she is!).
After a workout it’s time for breakfast with my family while preparing my daughter for school. My wife and I walk our daughter to school, which is just a few minutes away from our apartment- we like to play different games while walking.

It’s time for my daily standup with the team and the client. Once this is done, I follow up on PR reviews and comments from the previous day (or from my early morning work).
After the standup, I make sure the backlog is up to date and all the user stories have the necessary details. If there are open questions, I ping the appropriate people to provide answers. I then start working on my dev tasks, mixed in with some calls with my team and the client to sort out details regarding progress and next steps for the project.
Time for a quick lunch with my wife, chatting about where we want to travel next!
I return from lunch, catching up on emails and answering or setting up calls if needed. After this, I go back to either my dev tasks or coordination around the backlog and work in progress.
I have a backlog grooming session with the client PO, where my team and I add more details to user stories or add/park them based on the information we have. This activity becomes the base for sprint planning so we also discuss high-level priorities.
I wrap up my day. My daughter gets back from school around 3:30 pm, so I take her to the park and we spend some quality time together.
