Talk 1: The importance of social construct in maintaining a high-performance team - Carl-Gustaf Harroch

Now, most of you must be familiar with working from home. Because of the currently enforced lockdown or an initiative that you always wanted to explore, what is next to ensure your team retains its performance and efficiency? When we opened the Berlin office in 2014, we learnt the hard way on how to work better together remotely. To retain high performance, you need to look at the human aspect of working together. Like most things, tooling is usually not the solution. How do you simulate team dynamics and interactions in a highly distributed and digital way? I will present some of our findings and hopefully, you might get a laugh or two out of it. Slides available to view here.

Talk 2: Keeping your team connections, remotely

For a lot of people, remote communication is perceived to be unnatural and uncomfortable. It doesn’t have to be like that. I’ve been part of a remote team for 6 years and we’ve created a productive, supportive and friendly environment for our entire company to communicate across. We’ve put together a list of suggestions that we’ve found invaluable in supporting our teams.

Key Takeaways: A lot of practical insights, from constructive criticism to ask the stupid question! The most important one is to recognize and promote glue work: “anything that makes the team successful”. Slides are available to view here.
