Meet the experts at Node Interactive
By Leanne Vaughey

Next week from October 4th - 6th, nearForm will be headlining and proudly sponsoring Node.js Interactive Vancouver 2017. The event is for Node.js developers, companies that rely on Node.js and the vendors that support both of these contingents with tools, training and other services.

Chat with our team of experts at booth P2 or if you would prefer a more in-depth consultation with one of the team, you can book your 20 minute 1:1 here.

Any questions you may have at at all on node.js, we would love to help you. We will also have plenty of swag ( did someone mention hoodies?? ) at the booth so be sure to grab one. Our infamous “hapi hour” will take place during Wednesday evening’s booth crawl with some cool t-shirts and Irish Whiskey sampling!

Here’s a low-down of the talks and workshops you can expect to see from the nearForm team over the 2 days.

Keynote - The Node Movement and how to play a part

Speaker: Cian O’Maidin - CEO, nearForm

Talk brief: As with every significant movement, the node movement will be marked in the history books. In this talk - Cian sets his perspectives on the node project, what’s important and talk about his personal philosophy and what he believes are the real opportunities for us to have an impact for the greater good.

Time: Day 1, 10:00am - 10:10am - West Ballroom A

Talk - Take your HTTP Server to Ludicrous Speed

Speaker: Matteo Collina - Principal Architect, nearForm

Talk Brief: Express, Hapi, Restify, or just plain Node.js core? Which framework should I choose? In my journey in nodeland, I always wondered about the cost of my abstractions. require(‘http’) can reach 25k requests/sec, Express 9k, and Hapi 2k.

I started a journey to write an HTTP framework with extremely low overhead, and Fastify was born. With its ability to reach an astonishing 20k requests/sec, Fastify can halve your cloud server bill.

Time: Day 1, 4:40pm - 5:10pm - West Meeting Room 122
