It’s with massive excitement today that the team at nearForm would like to announce that Peter Elger has become our Director of Engineering.

Peter Elger, architect at nearForm

A physicist by training, Peter started his career working as chief software architect at the Joint-Jet Fusion Undertaking in the UK where he spent 5 years building data acquisition and analysis systems for a Tokamak Fusion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokamak) reactor.

Peter has held technical leadership roles across a broad base of the IT industry in both the research and commercial sectors including nuclear fusion research, software disaster recovery, telecommunications and broadcast media. Companies include BetaPond (www.betapond.com), TSSG( www.tssg.org), Waterford Technologies (http://www.waterfordtechnologies.com/) and Indigo Stone (now by EMC)( www.emc.com ).

Peter’s enthusiasm and energy coupled with his passion for delivery of mission critical applications and his deep industry experience are a big asset to nearForm. We are excited about the future with Peter Elger as a key team member.

Peter has a B.Sc. in Physics and an M.Sc. in Computer Science. Peter likes lifting really heavy weights and kick-boxing when not mashing the keyboard and delivering projects.
